Oxalis Triangularis ‘Sunset Yellow’

The autumnal colours of this rare Oxalis are quite unlike any other houseplant. The dainty triangular leaflets come in subtly shifting tones of chartreuse to copper and apricot and seem to flutter and dance like butterflies above their container. It’s an extraordinary little plant for its foliage alone, but has the added benefit of trumpet-shaped yellow blooms in spring and summer. An additional novelty of Oxalis triangularis is that its leaves are highly responsive to variations in light levels and at night, or in harsh sunlight, they fold down like the wings of a butterfly! Oxalis ‘Sunset Yellow’ makes an exquisite specimen plant for a cool windowsill in indirect light or in a cool conservatory. Height and spread: 10-20cm (4-8in).
